Types of Visa's after Brexit

The Main Visa now for UK citizens is the non lucrative

See my other Article on this

There is also a "golden visa"

A working Visa, Student Visa and many more to add on once you get the non Lucrative too.

Below i will list a few of the more common ones

WORK PERMIT= Employed(CUENTA AJENA)

The first step in the process is to find a job offer from an employer in Spain. There must be a company willingly to hire you and to start the application procedure. Without that clear intention, you cannot apply for the Spanish work permit.

We are talking about a one-year residence authorization that can be renewed if the required conditions are still met during the following year.

To meet the conditions you can not be in Spain for the Application, in order to be considered you must apply and be in your country of origin. The downside is since 2008 the opportunities for foreigners as decreased

There are two conditions in which you will enjoy what is called a preference regime. It means that you can skip the shortage occupation list and start working in positions outside from it. When the specific job position has been offered to Spanish nationals or EU citizens first and none of them has accepted. When you are the children of legal residents in Spain or the spouse of legal residents in the country. If the family reunification process has conditions and requirements you cannot meet, this could be your best alternative. Under those two conditions, you do not need to cover any specific job position and any offer will be valid for your application.

SELF EMPLOYMENT= Cuenta Propia/Autonmono

It is for those individuals who would like to develop their economic activity on their own, without being employed by any company.

We are talking about a one year permit that will allow you to work in the Spanish territory as a freelancer (autónomo), enjoying the new self-employed regulation in Spain. If you still meet the requirements, at the end of that year you can renew your residence authorization.

After 5 years of consecutive renewals, you can apply for the long-run residence.

One condition is again you can not be in Spain for the Application and must apply from your country of origin.

You need to have the training and professional qualifications necessary to undertake what it is you propose to do, For example opening an accountancy practice you need to have the relevant qualifications. The need to be able to prove that you process the required abilities to undertake the work you are supplying or offering.

Terms and conditions to be meet.

You must provide a Business Plan!

in this it needs to have everything you intend to do for and within your business, what the idea is, how it is going to work, The more detail the better, think about it as selling it to an investor for support:

Have a good marketing plan,

Financing information, where is it coming form , investments, money in the bank, savings, financial projection, start date and as much other information as you possibly can..

The Spanish Government would like to see what potencial you are bringing into the country, is it going to create any jobs? showing in clear terms how you are going to benefit the Spanish Economy.

This business plan is crucial for the national administration to see how positive the outcome of your project will be during the first 3 years. That is why having the right structure and including the right sections on it can grant you a successful application. If you fail to include what must be there, you can get your application easily rejected, as they are really strict.

I can help with this part and work with you to get a plan that will help facilitate a suitable document to supply for submission.

Once you have this done, you then need to send it off for a review to one of five Spanish institutions for review who will then process ans review to decide if they thing it will have a positive outcome, you will get a certificate if they accept and with this you will need to send to the consulate with all the other required documents.

Again once the above is meet you then need to go onto the Autonmono process which i can help you with once you are over here, registering your social security and Tax agency, remembering to be in contact for the required tax obligations that come with any self employment anywhere.

Investment Visa aka"Golden Visa"

GOLDEN VISA SPAIN WITH €500,000 INVESTMENT

Spain launched its golden visa programme in 2013. An investment of €500,000 in real estate will gain family residency.

One of the easiest ways to get the Spanish Residency is through the Golden Visa Program. This investor permit grants NON-EU Nationals to attain the Spanish residency for one year (plus having the option of renewing this business visa in order to extend the stay). And it does not require residing in Spain (over 183 days), just visiting the country once during the period of residence.

"Maintaining the investment and visiting at least once a year Spain will enable you to renew your residency permit easily"

The Spanish investor visa can be renewed every two years. After five years it is possible to gain permanent residency and after ten years citizenship. It is not necessary to live in Spain in order to retain and renew the residency visa permit.

First of all, and unlike any visa under the general foreigner’s law, you can apply directly from Spain.

Secondly, with the golden visa you are granted the right to live and work in Spain for 2 years initially (instead of just 1).

A few Terms and conditions:

If you make a joint investment or purchase, each individual investment has to meet the minimum requirements. As such, if you decide to purchase a property, each person involved has to pay €500,000 to be eligible for the Golden Visa. It is not possible to split the investment into smaller amounts, as you would not be eligible for the Golden Visa residency.

You must make the initial investment in full, though your own funds and you must be the sole owner of the investment. However, if you purchase a property worth more than €500,000, then you can use loans and financing to pay for the amount exceeding €500,000.

Investment in the Spanish Government Debt: A certificate from the Bank of Spain or another financial institution, stating you are the sole owner of the investment for a period of at least five years.

  • Investment in stocks or shares in a Spanish company: A statement of the investment from the Spanish Registrar of Investments of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.

  • Investment in quoted shares: A certificate of the financial intermediary stating your investment, registered at the Spanish National Stock Market Commission or at the Bank of Spain.

  • Investment in a bank deposit: A certificate from the financial institution naming you as the sole owner of the bank deposit.

  • You must be of legal age (+18 years old).

  • You must have no history of criminal records.

  • You must not have been refused a Schengen Visa in the past.

  • You must have health insurance in Spain.

They are also available to businessmen who invest in a Spanish company, which is why they are referred to as Spain Investor Visas as well.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you need help in any of the above visas.
